What qualities do you need to work at Dallington?

Caring, creative, flexible and really interested in the children.

What is unique about Dallington?

It’s a particularly creative and nurturing school.

If you could learn anything, what would it be?

How to build a time machine!

How many years have you been working with children and how many of those have been at Dallington?

I’ve worked with children and young people for 15 years–11 of which have been at Dallington.

What do you hope to imbue in the children?

A love of learning (I know it’s a cliché, but a passion for learning and finding out about the world is such a positive life skill).

What are your interests and how do they impact on your time with the children?

I’m quite ‘crafty’, so I really enjoy helping when they are creating their own projects.

Who or what inspires you?

The children – especially the nursery children, whose imaginations are full of weird and wonderful things.

What was your experience at your school?

I went to reasonably small schools, in quite a rural area. I remember particularly loving primary school.

Tell us a joke!

Two lions on Oxford Street, one turns to the other and says ‘Quiet here, isn’t it?’

If you could learn anything, what would it be?

How to build a time machine!
