What qualities do you need to work at Dallington?
I think you need to be able to understand how to make life at school as exciting and enjoyable as possible.
What is unique about Dallington?
Dallington has such a unique and laid back atmosphere compared to other schools I have worked in. The staff are trusted to do their jobs and the children are very happy.
How many years have you been working with children and how many of those have been at Dallington?
I have been working with children for 5 years, 2 of which were at Dallington.
What do you hope to imbue in the children?
A sense of curiosity about the world. To keep asking questions.
What do you like to teach most?
What are your interests and how do they impact on your time with the children?
My interests are computer games, science and travelling. I think educational games can be a fantastic teaching tool. I also try to relate most things we discuss in the classroom to scientific thinking somehow.
Who or what inspires you?
My fellow teachers inspire me every day.
What is the hardest thing you have ever done?
Leaving my role as a classroom assistant at Dallington 4 years ago!
Tell us a funny children’s anecdote...
On my first day at Dallington four years ago, I was helping a Year 4 child with some work when he suddenly stopped and looked at me. He then said “My cat LOVES catching things, but so far he’s only caught one fly and two Maltesers”.
If you had a wish, what would it be?
Access to time travel.
What was your experience at your school?
I had a blast!
