Sydney born, David Woodward holds a Bachelor of Teaching/Bachelor of Music from the Newcastle Conservatorium of Music and a Postgraduate Diploma in Opera Performance from the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts. A highly sought after orchestral trumpet player, David always wanted to be a Music Teacher and to work in a freelance capacity as a Trumpeter. It wasn’t until he began singing lessons (to get a better grade in a Music Education subject at University) that David discovered his love of singing and the operatic ability of his voice.
Between 2009 and 2013, David toured between Sydney, Melbourne and Perth singing in hundreds of performances as a principal artist, understudy and chorister with Opera Australia (at the Sydney Opera House) and the West Australian Opera.
Since moving to London in 2013, he has sung principal roles and covers with The Royal Opera House, Glyndebourne Opera, The English National Opera, Garsington Opera and with touring and education companies around England and France.
After 10 years on the stage, David decided to take his love of all things Performing Arts and start a new chapter in his career at Dallington.
