School Fete 2018
12 - 4pm 7 July at Seward St Playground
The Dallington Fete is on Sat 7th July this year from 12-4 at Seward St Park.
It’s a fantastic day of food, cake, drink, fun and activities – bouncy castles, face painting (with free tattoos and face painting stencils this year), arts & crafts, games, lawn games (new this year – twister, bubbles, ring toss, etc.) and more. We also have wonderful salads being donated again this year by The Modern Pantry and Albion.
As it’s the 40th Anniversary of Dallington School, we will also have a huge birthday cake to celebrate the occasion.
The fete is a community event run by FoD, parent volunteers and teacher volunteers. It relies on all of us to make it a fun, successful day out.
As usual, we will be running a raffle with the prize draw taking place at the fete. Tickets are sold in advance, winners need not be present. Most raffle prizes are traditionally donated by parents. This year many local businesses donated amazing prizes - £20-£100 restaurant vouchers, theatre tickets, cookbooks, gym sessions and more.
The raffle is FoD’s biggest fundraising event of the year, typically raising around £2,500. FoD uses these funds to subsidise class field trips, host discos and the FoD Christmas Party for kids and parents and run next year’s fete and more. The funds are also used to purchase equipment/resources for classes and the playground.
Volunteering at the Fete
We're so happy that lots of parents already signed up to volunteer at this year's.
The Fete relies on parent and teacher volunteers. Without you, we can't make it happen. If every family volunteered for just one hour, then we would fill all the slots.
So please, please do sign up. And the quicker you get in the more choice you'll have over which role you fill. So, whether you get fired up by cooking on the BBQ, or you mix a mean jug of Pimms, or you're a master of crowd control (bouncy castle lol), visit the link and book your slot ASAP.
If you know that things will be crazy for you once you have your kid/s in tow, then please consider volunteering to help set up, before everyone arrives.
Selling Raffle Tickets
Your child brought home £40-worth of Friends of Dallington raffle tickets on Thursday, 31st May. These are for you to sell (or buy yourself) before the Summer Fete. Tickets are priced at £2 each, and all money from sales goes towards special activities, equipment, the Christmas Party and more for our children.
Please sell as many tickets as you can and return the ticket stubs and money to your child’s class teacher by Friday, 6th July. Please note that every ticket stub must be fully completed with the buyer’s name and contact information. The draw will take place at the fete on Saturday, 7th July at Seward Street playground (winners need not be present).
If you have any questions or would like additional tickets to sell, please contact FoD. If you would still like to donate a raffle prize, it’s not too late – please email us the details.
A big thank you to all parents and local businesses who donated prizes for this year’s raffle. I think you’ll agree that it’s a fantastic list of prizes!
