Learning to tell the time in year 2 has been terrific! We have made our own analogue clocks and have been very busy working in our time booklets. We have learnt about our day and the order of events in which we do things. We have looked at ‘before’,’after’, ‘last’, ‘morning’, ‘afternoon’ and ‘night’. This helped us with telling the time especially when the questions got more difficult and asked to tell the time half an hour before or after. Before telling the time we revised the months of the year, seasons and days of the week. This was work we were able to whizz through and we were able to tell our birthdays very easily. Our teacher is constantly asking up what the time is from the big clock in the classroom. We know our o’clock, half past, quarter past, quarter to and are learning about five minute intervals. We have looked at both analogue and digital clocks. |

This term we have really concentrated hard on our handwriting. We are really excited to develop our joined up writing and now we are fabulous at it! We always try to remember to sit properly, hold our pencil lightly and in the correct way. We warm up our arm and we are very enthusiastic to get started in our books. Learning to join up is a big step into developing our own fluent and individual style. |
