piecing the school together |
| As part
of the 'Eat London' event we decided to try and re-create 'Dallington
School'. After lots of discussion we decided that using bits of bread
would make effective bricks. We thought that if we toasted the bread
it would be stronger. We used square shapes to cut out windows. It was
then quite a task to think of ways to attach the pieces all together!! |

The beans we grew led to story telling and in particular the story of Jack and the Beanstalk. We did some wonderful paintings and also we had some mystery letters from 'The Giant and Jack'. Ofcourse we have had to write back every day. They haven't written for a while but we love waiting for the next exciting piece of news. |
Giuseppe Arcimboldo was an artist who created pictures that used fruit or vegetables for parts of people's faces. Here is one of his pieces of work.
We talked a lot about what we would use to make a mouth, eyes or ears etc. We then found lots of images of fruit to create a collage of a face. |

Our canal trip this year was on a particularly beautiful day. The sun was shining so the reflections in the water looked amazing. This is what we saw when we came out of the long, dark tunnel!! We also saw geese, ducks, moorhens and even a few fish!! |
