Every year 'Children's Book Week' is held in the first week of October.
This year's particular focus was on rhyme and rythmn. Alongside this
the children made their own books, told each other stories and re-told
stories using story props. We drew pictures of our favourite stories,
as well . |

An author we focused on at the start of this year was Shirley Hughes, who is also an illustrator. We read many of her stories involving a little boy called Alfie and his little sister Annie Rose. It has been fun reading about their adventures and their family and friends.

| On our 'investigative table' the children and adults have been collecting items linked to the season of Autumn and woodlands. You can look closely at conkers, acorns and Autumn leaves using a magnifying glass, or look at posters, postcards and also books. |
