Pirates and The New World/Shakespeare

The children enjoyed last term’s Pirate project very much indeed. They made pirate heads using paper, glue and paint, taking many hours to build up the layers. Once the main face had been constructed, the children enjoyed adding detail, such as clay teeth and hair made from string and paper.

You can see by the images how successful they were. They look spectacularly realistic. Please come and visit Middle School to see our pirate faces in the flesh!

Next week we will be visiting the Theatro Technis in Camden where we shall see a production of Macbeth. The children will have the opportunity to have a lengthy discussion with the director and actors prior the beginning of the play.

The children are also working on a condensed version of Macbeth in their Drama lesson, which they will be performing for parents and other classes at the end of this term. They are developing their character work and looking forward to performing in front of an audience.

For an end of term treat, the children will be taking part in a wonderful workshop at the Globe Theatre on the South Bank. As part of the workshop, they will have the opportunity to have a back stage view of the theatre and really have a chance to see the ins and outs of a production.
