Year 4’s drawings of local shops.

Resources and Visits

We visited the parade of shops along Aldersgate St near the Barbican. Each child took a photo of a shop and drew it when we returned to school.

We have been to Bunhill Cemetery to look at the headstones and collect data. We have also looked at erosion of these headstones for our science study.

War of the Vegetables

The children performed the play by Alison Chaplin to an invited audience of parents and family. The play is about different vegetables ending up on the same patch and having to learn to get on with each other. We likened this to people from different backgrounds, learning to get on with each other, in the same area.
We made market stalls with clay fruit and vegetables.

Future visits include:
1. The Museum of London.
2. Local History Centre.
3. Hoxton Hall – Former Edwardian Music Hall.
