The Moon and Pond Life

"Year 3's pond life poster".

The Moon
During the first half of the summer term, we have been exploring the moon – collecting moon facts, keeping a moon diary and creating moon art. We visited the National Gallery and, with the help of our guide, studied three paintings with a moon theme. The paintings viewed were The Death of Actaeon by Titian, Turner’s The Fighting Temeraire and An Experiment with a Bird in an Air Pump by Joseph Wright. Year 3 have explored the pictures further during drama, bringing the characters, in each painting, to life.

Pond Life
For the second half of summer term, Year 3 is investigating pond life. We will be visiting Camley Street Natural Park in Camden for pond dipping and a chance to explore local grassland, wetland, and woodland wildlife.
