We used mirrors to look carefully at ourselves. We looked at the colour of our eyes and the shape of our faces. We also looked at the clothes we wore. We made preliminary sketches, which we developed and mounted to use as the front cover of our ‘who are we?’ books. During this activity we discovered a lot about each other – the food we like to eat, the toys we like to play with and a little about our families. |

We had to experiment by mixing different paints to achieve the colours that we wanted. During the process we made a class matrix to record the colour of our hair and eyes. We discovered that most of the class have brown eyes. As you can see from the photograph we made frames for our pictures using colour and shape in a regular repeat pattern.
