Modelling Dinosaurs |
| Each child has chosen a different dinosaur to investigate. Using a variety of reference materials they are finding out about the characteristics of their chosen dinosaur - for example does it eat meat or only plants? How big is it compared to them? They share these personal discoveries with the class and in so doing develop their listening, comprehension and speaking skills. They have also drawn accurate representations of their dinosaurs. The photograph shows children using found materials to model imaginary dinosaurs. As well as developing their knowledge and interest in dinosaurs this modelling is promoting their fine motor control skills in the use of equipment and art materials as well as encouraging their creative and imaginative thinking and developing their spatial awareness. |
