Ourselves

 

We used mirrors to look very carefully at ourselves. We looked at the colour and length of our hair, the colour of our eyes and the shape of our faces. We also looked at the clothes we wore. We made preliminary drawings, before finally painting our self portraits.
As well as looking at our physical appearance, we discussed the things we liked to do, the food we liked to eat and the toys we liked to play with.

apple investigation in progress

 As part of our discussion on food, we looked at food we liked to eat, in particular apples.
To develop a scientific approach, we made accurate observational drawings. We predicted what we might find inside, before finally dissecting the fruit to discover the pips. This led to lots of discussions about what the pips were for and we then made further drawings of the inside of the apple. All this information was then collated into zigzag books. Oh, and by the way, we ate the apples!
