Ourselves |
self portraits |
|
We looked very closely at ourselves in the mirror to identify our features-the colour of our hair, the colour of our eyes, the colour of our skin and the clothes we wore. Then we painted our self portraits. This involved experimenting with mixing paint to achieve the required colours. Finally, we constructed a gilded frame to sit around our portraits which were then hung on the wall to make our portrait gallery. |

Jack and the Beanstalk |
Our story reading this term has focussed on fairy tales. A favourite has been Jack and the Beanstalk. The children enjoyed making plasticine models based on the story. This helps to develop recall, understanding of the story and creative interpretation, as well as develop their fine manual skills at the same time. As you can see from the photo an extra bean has appeared. |
