I have been a journalist on a national newspaper for more than 30 years. I was the education editor for six years during which time I was closely involved with the National Teaching Awards, serving as a national judge for three years. I have also been involved, and a judge, with Artworks - that national competition organised by Clore Duffield and Tate Modern for schoolchildren's art. I have also been involved with, and a judge, for the Post Office's Letter Writing for Children competition. I have had one book published am working on another, commissioned, book.
