Gail Smith

My name is Gail Smith and I have been a parent of children at Dallington School since 1998. I work with my husband Alastair in our family market research/publishing business having previously worked for Nicole Farhi/Stephen Marks for ten years.

I have two daughters Katia and Francesca. Katia first went to Dallington in 1998 and Francesca in 1999. Alastair and I loved the school immediately - the walls were covered with artwork, Mogg and the teachers were so welcoming and, most of all, the children were happy from the start.

Over the years, the girls have been into the depths of the Chislehurst caves (Romans and Druids), travelled to the Black Country (Victorians), cowered in a bomb shelter at the Imperial War Museum (World War Two), had huge slugs and millipedes placed on their arms at London Zoo as well as being covered with butterflies at Sion House (Wildlife and the Environment). Both girls have been on numerous trips around London all the while discovering new things and learning at the same time. They have constructed two bridges, starred in numerous Shakespearian plays and learnt to swim, kayak, climb and even break-dance. I could go on........

Alastair and I are really pleased we made the choice to send both our girls to Dallington as they have become independent, confident, happy children thanks to Mogg, all the teachers and the ethos of the school. Katia has left Dallington and now goes to The Latymer School and Francesca will be attending Queens College soon.

Finally, perhaps the best words belong to my children who having read the above said
[Francesca] “I have really loved everything at Dallington and will be sad to leave”. [Katia] “One of my teachers at secondary school once said to me ‘The happiest time a child can have at school is to be having so much fun that they don’t realise they are learning’ and it made me think that this was exactly how my experience at Dallington was.”

Once a Dallington child always a Dallington child. Congratulations Mogg on your 30 year anniversary ........
